I will talk about stuff that happens to me. And comment on things that I like and don't like. Fuck stuff you like.

The TV List

At work we discovered nobody though they even LIKED 18 TV shows, much less loved that many, so we cut down the number.
Also, every single one of us would have listed "The Office", so we decided to limit the list to American TV shows.

The same "watchability" rules apply as they did with the film list. I have one footnote to my list, which I'm sure will tick off some of you. Here's my "top 7" TV show list.

Seinfeld

South Park

News Radio

Buffy

Kids In The Hall

Simpsons

Freaks and Geeks (I have the "limited edition" on DVD. This show was ahead of it's time)

OK. Here's the footnote; the Simpsons just barely makes my list. I know, I know, it reinvented comedy. It was the funniest thing on TV for years, and so on. It was brilliant at one time. But we're now quickly approaching a ratio where there will be more bad Simpson's episodes than great ones.
I understand why Fox keeps the show going (it still gets great demos even though ratings have been slipping for years), but I hope for the show's sake, they let it go soon.

The Simpsons...the Terri Schrivo of television.

Icidentally, I have no problem whatsoever coming up with 18, so here's the rest:

Gilmore Girls (No gay jokes, chuckleboy)

The Adventures of Pete and Pete

Saturday Night Live

The Adventures of Briscoe County Jr.

Okay - so there's only six in the top - add Seinfeld to the top seven and put Mr. Show.

I'm assuming that you want shows rated by replay value, instead of shows that are incredible in serial form, but not necessarily as good in rerun... Otherwise, Sopranos and The Wire would have to rate high. Here goes:

Newsradio

Seinfeld

The Adventures of Pete and Pete (nice to know I'm not the only fan)

Simpsons (first six? seasons)

All in the Family

Mr. Show

Curb Your Enthusiasm

The Office (Fuck you and your rules)

I'm Alan Partridge (Yeah, it's British. It's also the funniest thing I have ever seen. Fuck you again)

Black Adder (Fuck you thricely)

Homicide: Life on the Street (Fuck Sipowicz. Give me Pembleton)

Fuck the Americanized 'Office', too.

I woke up in a cold sweat, realizing I had left out Kids in the Hall. Unforgivable.

Wow Big... I never would have pegged you for liking Killmore Girls. I tried watching it a couple times. It is not my style of escapism TV. I live the real world and have no interest in watching it.

Two Star Treks, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Buffy, Angel,X-files, and TWO (who knew there were two?) Stargates are all kosher...but who could believe a witty, well-bred, single mom with an equally witty daughter. That's CraZy talk!
Pook, you are priceless.

I think his comment was saying that the show wasn't unbelievable enough and thus not escapist enough. That's fine. But in my defense, GG's is an almost flawlessly written show. I actually ignored it for a long while. Obviously, I didn't catch a promo and think to myself, "Well, I like shows about vampires and space aliens, I bet I'd love Gilmore Girls!" I just caught it a few times by default and it hooked me. I say check it out. Plus Lauren Graham is adorable. Yates is a fag. Now if you'll excuse me, I'd like to go to my room for some married Jan... er Jen.

Yes, now I see. The "it" he doesn't want to watch is the "real world"...I didn't get that before.
I was also unclear in that I didn't make any judgements (my favorite!) about the show. I think Gilmore Girls was remarkable. Same thing as Jim...I didn't notice it until I worked for a WB affiliate and I HAD to notice it. Quite the surprise...remarkable writing, and the chicks could pull it off.

Of course, this only encourages the "Yates is a fag" statement by giving kudos to Gilmore, but whatever.

I like cock. There. I said it, and I'll say it again. We are talking about the delicious pastry treat from Greece, right?
