What happened to this stuff?
I think if you told me anywhere from age 5 or 6 'till now that there's a hot chick with a rocket pack shooting a two-headed dinosaur with a laser rifle, I would say where -exactly- do I have to go to see this?
While looking for some good 30's and 40's rocket ships, I discovered the world of pulp space comics. I guess I had seen them before but not taken in the complete ball-out kickassery of the covers. Honestly, I challenge anyone to find another picture of a hot babe pistol whipping the flying alligator monster that's trying to eat her.
Planet Comics in particular knew how to do it up. In short, today's sci-fi has zero imagination compared to then. Granted, there's a running theme of shooting dinosaur-type monsters in the face with a blaster, but is that really a bat theme to have?
I would say in all my research, these two scientific facts are my favorite;
1) If you ever get attacked by pack of werewolves (or man-faced wolves), punching them right in the puss is very effective.
2) If you read comic books anytime from 1940 until about the mid-fifties, you have a bondage fetish.

Old pulp is awesome, and not just the Sci-fi, the horror comics are sweet too! Also,those are the books that sent the USA into space 20 years later.
